BIOGRAPHY
Richard has been a dedicated technology banker for over 20 years, working on numerous domestic and international buy/sell side M&A transactions, joint ventures and a variety of exits including trade sales, public takeovers and IPOs. Richard has completed in excess of 120 transactions including 21 IPOs, 27 M&A transactions and numerous private fundraisings and secondary fundraisings for listed companies.
Richard started his career in the City at Charles Stanley, where he spent seven years. During this time, he developed a particular interest in the technology sector, and he became increasingly convinced that technology would be a major driver of change in the global economy. In 2005, Richard left to head up Peel Hunt’s technology team, where he spent over 12 years helping some of the most innovative and dynamic technology companies develop their business strategies, raise capital, and execute on acquisitions.
In 2017, Richard moved into the software industry and joined SDL plc, a language software translation business, as its Pre-Integration Director, to help with their acquisition of Donnelly Language Solutions Inc. In this role, Richard helped raise the finance and ensure the smooth integration to drive the growth of the combined business resulting in the combined group’s acquisition by RWS plc for over $800m.
Richard has for many years acted as a Qualified Executive to companies quoted on AIM and as Sponsor on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. Richard studied Economics and Economic History at the London School of Economics and completed his post-graduate qualification in Behavioural Economics at Manchester University. Richard has also been involved in numerous charitable organizations, including serving as a mentor and trustee at Edgware District Reform Synagogue.
