Andrew Monk – Chief Executive Officer

Andrew has a successful stock broking career spanning 25 years. In that time he has built up strong relationships with many major UK institutions. He was employed by Hoare Govett ABN AMRO for 11 years before founding Oriel Securities as Joint CEO, which grew to employ nearly 100 people and have a valuation of approximately £40million under his leadership. Andrew later became CEO of Blue Oar Plc, where he successfully turned around its UK securities operations and its private client division as well as starting an asset management division. During his period as CEO, Blue Oar Plc made three successful acquisitions. 

Andrew brings to the Group and company strong corporate relationships, a track record of success and "knows his way around the City". Andrew is a keen sportsman and joined VSA Capital Group plc on 1 September 2009.

Peter Damouni - Joint Head of Corporate Finance

Peter joined VSA Capital in January 2011 as Head of Corporate Finance.  Peter has over nine years of experience in Corporate Finance where he has advised on a variety of transactions including private placements, IPOs and structured products as well as a number of merger and acquisition transactions in the public and private markets. Prior to joining VSA Capital, Peter was a Director of City Capital Corporation, where he was responsible for the origination and execution of transactions for small to mid-sized companies in the natural resources, consumer and financial services sectors. 

Peter brings the experience to lead successful deals and the initiative to assist in the growth of VSA Capital. He holds a BEcon (Hons) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.   

Andrew Raca - Joint Head of Corporate Finance

Andrew has a broad range of Corporate Finance experience in the Main Market and AIM gained over 20 years.  He commenced his career at the investment bank, Barclays de Zoete Wedd.  Following three years in a family owned businesses he joined Albert E Sharp Securities. Subsequently he worked in senior roles at Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, Arden Partners, Libertas Capital and Blue Oar Securities where he became Head of Corporate Finance. Following two years at Shore Capital, he has joined VSA to assist in implementing its growth plans.

Nick Redfern – Head of Sales & Trading

Nick started his City career at Smith New Court, which subsequently became Merrill Lynch, later moving to UBS to focus on Mid Cap companies.  He later moved to become head of the number one ranked DKW pan-European Mid-Cap team.  More recently he has been Head of Sales and Equities at Arbuthnot, Oriel Securities, Blue Oar Securities and Charles Stanley.

Peter Joy - Finance Director

Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in London in 1982 and has worked at City-based financial services businesses thereafter. Initially working in the finance functions of a number of derivatives brokerage companies, he also spent time as financial controller of the investment management subsidiary of a large US bank before joining the MBO team that acquired stockbroker Astaire & Partners Limited in 1990. Following Astaire & Partners’ sale to Blue Oar Plc in 2008, Peter went on to become Finance Director of Blue Oar Plc, which was subsequently renamed Astaire Group Plc. Peter left Astaire Group Plc at the end of 2009. 

Peter joined VSA Capital Group plc in February 2010 and brings strong financial discipline and an enthusiasm to help guide the group through its transitional phase from being a software distribution business to its re-birth as a financial services business.
